Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
- We use your CV and the jobs you add only to evaluate your fit and write your CVs and cover letters.
- No ads, no analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
- Your CV and job ads are processed by Google's Gemini AI on its paid tier, so Google doesn't use them to improve its products.
- Checking a job before you sign up sends the ad text and the work rights you pick to the same AI to give you an answer. We don't save either, and we don't ask for your name or email to do it.
- You can delete a job, or your whole account, at any time from the app.
Who we are
Trozi (previously called Career Mate) is an app built and run by Gaurav Khatri, an individual developer in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. In this policy "we" and "us" means Gaurav. Contact: hello@trozi.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in with one-time codes.
- If you join the beta from our website: your email address and which phone you use, only to invite you to Trozi. Ask us and we'll remove it.
- Your CV, as text. If you upload a file, we extract its text and do not keep the file itself.
- Your setup answers, such as target roles and work preferences.
- Jobs you add: the job ad text, the link you gave, or the text of a file you uploaded. For a Seek link, the job title and employer you type in, and the address of the copy of the ad we read instead.
- Your progress on each job: where you're up to (applied, interviewing and so on), follow-ups you record, and the interview prep and career insights we generate for you.
- Feedback you send us from the app: your message, what kind it is, and your phone type and app version.
- What we create for you: job evaluations and fit scores, the CV and cover letter PDFs we generate, and answers to application questions you ask us to draft (the question you paste, our answer, and the changes you ask for).
- Limited technical data: to stop abuse, our server briefly keeps your IP address and email in memory (for about 15 minutes) to count sign-in attempts, and our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs. If the app or server hits an error, we receive a technical error report (see "Error reports" below).
We don't collect your contacts, location, photos or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
Only to run Trozi for you: to sign you in, evaluate how well you fit a job, write tailored CVs and cover letters, show your saved jobs, and keep the service safe from abuse (for example, daily usage limits). We don't use your data for marketing and we never sell or rent it.
Who processes your data
We use these service providers to run the app. Each only receives what it needs for its part:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Sign-in, database and PDF storage | Singapore |
| Render | Runs our server | United States |
| Google (Gemini API) | AI that reads your CV and job ads to evaluate fit and write documents | United States |
| Sentry | Error and crash reports, so we can fix problems | United States |
| Tavily | Web search, to find a readable copy of a Seek ad and a little background about an employer for cover letters | United States |
When you add a job by link, our server visits that link to read the job ad, just as a web browser would.
Web search. Seek doesn't let apps read its ads, so for a Seek link we search the web (through Tavily) for the same ad on the employer's site or another job board, using the job title and employer you type in, then read the copy we find. When we write a cover letter we may also search for public information about the employer. Only those search terms (a job title, an employer name, or a Seek job number) go to Tavily: never your CV, your name or your contact details. Our server never reads Seek's or Indeed's own pages.
Ads you open in the app. For Seek and Indeed links, the app can open the ad in a browser inside the app. When you tap "Use this ad", the app reads that page's text on your phone and sends it to us, just as if you had copied and pasted it. Nothing is read until you tap the button, and the browser only shows pages you open.
Error reports. When something goes wrong in the app or on our server, a technical report goes to Sentry: what failed, where in the code, your device and app version, and your anonymous account ID. We remove your email, IP address, sign-in tokens, and the content of your CV, job ads and documents before a report is sent.
Your generated documents
Generated CVs and cover letters are stored as PDF files with long, random web addresses. Anyone who has a document's address can open it, so only share it with people you intend to, such as an employer you're applying to.
Storage outside Australia
Your data is stored in Singapore and processed in the United States by the providers above. By using Trozi you agree to this. These countries' privacy laws may differ from Australia's.
How we protect it
All connections use HTTPS encryption, data is encrypted at rest by our storage provider, every request checks that you can only reach your own data, and sign-in attempts are rate-limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell affected users promptly if a breach puts their information at risk.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- We keep your data while you have an account.
- Delete a job (press and hold it in your pipeline, or tap the bin icon on the job) to remove it with its evaluation, documents and application answers. You can also delete a single application answer on its own.
- Delete your account in Profile → Delete account to permanently remove your profile, CV, all jobs, evaluations, documents and your sign-in.
- Deletion takes effect immediately in the app. Copies may remain for a limited time in our providers' logs or backups before they expire.
Your choices and rights
You can see and update your information in the app, redo your profile at any time, and delete individual jobs or your whole account. To ask what we hold about you, to correct something, or to raise a privacy concern, email hello@trozi.app and we'll respond within 30 days. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Trozi is for job seekers and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
